A little About Me and the Story Behind Organising Angel

Meet Stephanie

Hi, I'm Stephanie, a Professional Home Organiser based in East London and founder of Organising Angel.

I was born in Wanstead, East London, in the late 70s and grew up during the 80s and 90s in what I would consider a fairly typical working-class household. I was surrounded by family, and my parents worked incredibly hard for what we had. Our home was lively and lived-in, but not particularly organised.

Looking back, I can see I've always enjoyed arranging things. As a child, my toys were displayed on shelves and my teddies all lined up. As I got older, my perfume bottles were arranged in height order and my clothes hangers all faced the same way. These little things made me happy! I simply loved the way it looked. By my late teens, I was a little rebellious, but within all of that, my bedroom had become my sanctuary. It was my calm space, and I loved making it look and feel just right.

Career-wise, I've worked as an administrator across both the private and public sectors, including roles within finance and education. Over the years, I developed strong organisational skills and learnt the value of good systems and clear procedures. Whether it was improving a process, creating a filing system or organising paperwork, I always appreciated the difference that good structure could make, as it helped me work more efficiently.

Life as an adult has taken me down many paths and I have experienced some significant life transitions.

Today, I am a divorcee, raising two children, living in a multigenerational household, back in my childhood home. Through these life experiences, I've learnt first-hand to adapt to the space I'm living in and make the best use of what's available. They have made me resourceful and shown me that creating a home that works is about making the space you have work for you.

I am very grateful for the opportunities my life and career have given me. However, over time I realised I wanted something else. I wanted a role where I could make a difference, a role that would bring value to people's lives and hopefully make things a little easier. I also wanted the freedom of being my own boss.

This is what led me to retrain with Dilly Carter (from BBC's Sort Your Life Out) as a Professional Organiser and, in 2026, launch Organising Angel — bringing together my experience, my skills and my passion for helping busy individuals and families.
